Ingersoll Minnie Mouse Golden Years Watch – Brown Strap

It was in 1893 the first mass production of wrist and pocket watches were established by the Ingersoll brothers Robert and Charles in the USA. Prior to this, watches required much more handcrafting and therefore were relatively expensive. High quality watches were produced at the reasonable price of $1.00 (a day's wage at the time).

The 'Dollar Watch' or 'Yankee' (as it was respectfully called), changed the public's aspiration about the possibility of watch ownership forever.

In 1933, Ingersoll working with the Walt Disney Company developed watches with Mickey Mouse on the dial and the first character watch was born. This amazingly successful concept changed product marketing forever.

In recognition of the introduction of the worlds most famous mouse to the watch industry, the Ingersoll team offers tribute to this legend.

Whilst retaining the original looks of the 1933 launch with a leather strap and bracelet models and also two interpretations of the classic pocket watches, modern materials have been used such s Stainless Steel and a seventeen jewel mechanical movements to product a very high quality version of the original classic.

Once the mechanism movement is wound, the time is displayed by Mickey's arms pointing at the hours and minutes while the constantly rotating second dial has three more Mickey images.

As one would expect from a landmark collection such as this, every watch has a unique production number on its case back. In this way, each piece has its own identity a particularly important feature for the serious collector.
